IHG One Rewards is paying double points on paid stays booked direct, and triple points on stays booked in the IHG One Rewards app, from your second qualifying stay through December 31, 2026, with no cap on the bonus.
Key details (as of October 18, 2026)
- Promotion: IHG One Rewards “Up to 3X Points.”
- Registration: Open through December 31, 2026. You can register only once, and stays completed before you register don’t count.
- Stay dates: October 1 to December 31, 2026. There’s no separate booking deadline. Reservations you’ve already made directly should still count as long as you register before you check in.
- Bonus: Your first qualifying stay earns no bonus. From the second stay on, IHG pays 2X when you book through an IHG-owned direct channel such as ihg.com, or 3X when you book in the IHG One Rewards app. Each stay is judged by how it was booked, so you can mix the two.
- Example from IHG: A $100 room earning 10 base points per dollar brings 1,000 base points. That becomes 2,000 points in total at 2X, or 3,000 at 3X.
- No cap: IHG says the bonus points are unlimited.
- Fine print: Stays need a rate above US$30 per night. Reward Nights, Points & Cash and third-party bookings (Booking.com, Expedia and similar) don’t qualify. Only one room per night counts. Bonus points don’t count toward elite status. Some Six Senses, Iberostar Beachfront Resorts and Ruby properties are excluded or only partly participate.
How to book
- Sign in to your IHG One Rewards account, or join free if you don’t have one.
- Open the official “Up to 3X Points” offer page and register before your next stay. If the desktop link gives you trouble, look for the offer in the IHG One Rewards app.
- Book a paid rate in the IHG One Rewards app to get 3X, or on ihg.com or another IHG direct channel to get 2X.
- Make sure your member number is on the reservation, then complete the stay by December 31, 2026.
- Check your account activity a few weeks after checkout to confirm the bonus posted.
Who it’s good for
It’s good for business travelers and anyone with two or more paid IHG stays planned before year-end. With no cap, pricier stays booked in the app can earn far more than a typical “bonus per stay” promotion. One stay this quarter earns nothing extra.

Our take
This is one of the more generous hotel promotions running this fall. The 3X app tier triples your base earning, and there’s no cap. The catches are real, though. The first stay earns nothing extra, so a single stay gets no bonus at all. Award stays don’t qualify. The multiplier applies to base points only, so it’s less exciting at cheap properties. You also have to remember to book in the app to get the top tier. Don’t pay more for an IHG hotel just for the bonus, but if you’re already staying with IHG, register now.
