Travel Health
Why we care about travel health. Traveling as often as we do takes a toll. Crossing time zones throws off your body clock, red-eyes and hotel rooms mean short, broken sleep, and airport food is often the least healthy meal of the trip. All of it can leave your immune system run down right when you’re surrounded by crowds. In big cities, air pollution is another hidden cost. On high-pollution days we skip our outdoor runs, because the World Health Organization links outdoor air pollution to heart disease, stroke and lung disease, and estimates that 99% of people live where the air doesn’t meet its guidelines (WHO).
That’s why our international team at Points Capital makes health and fitness a priority on the road: clean, organic eating when we can find it, morning sunshine, fresh air, plenty of water, good sleep and staying active. All year round, we’ll share articles on staying healthy while you travel, from beating jet lag to finding clean food in airports.
Our health articles are for general information only and are not medical advice. Talk to your doctor before changing your diet, exercise, sleep or supplement routine.
