The last fill-up before you return a Las Vegas rental is where the Strip gets one more dollar out of you. The Rent-A-Car Center sits three miles south of the terminals on Gilespie Street, and the stations on Las Vegas Boulevard between the resorts and the return know exactly who is pulling in. Nevada is also one of the pricier gas states right now, which makes an agency refuel charge or a prepaid tank hurt more than it would in Phoenix or Salt Lake. This guide covers the current averages, the stations within a few minutes of the Rent-A-Car Center, and the rental and Turo fuel rules that decide whether you pay once or twice.

Current averages
| Grade | Las Vegas metro average | Nevada average | US national average | As of | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | $5.42 | $5.37 | $4.26 | Oct 21, 2026 | AAA |
| Premium | $6.10 | $5.99 | $5.18 | Oct 21, 2026 | AAA |
| Diesel | $6.90 | $6.87 | $6.32 | Oct 21, 2026 | AAA |
Las Vegas regular is about $1.15 above the national average and a few cents above the Nevada average. A full tank in a mid-size rental runs roughly $70 to $80 at these prices.
Stations near the airport
We do not quote per-station prices because they change hourly; check GasBuddy, Waze or the AAA app while you are still on I-15 or the 215. All on-airport agencies return to the Rent-A-Car Center at 7135 Gilespie St., Las Vegas, which the airport describes as three miles south of the terminals with freeway access; Gilespie runs between Las Vegas Boulevard South and I-15 near Warm Springs Road. Follow the airport signage to the Rent-A-Car Center, and allow extra time for the return shuttle.
- Chevron, 7310 Las Vegas Blvd. S.: Las Vegas Boulevard near Warm Springs Road, by the Las Vegas South Premium Outlets and the closest brand station to the Rent-A-Car Center.
- Chevron, 6176 Las Vegas Blvd. S.: Las Vegas Boulevard north of the return, near Russell Road, for travelers coming straight down the Boulevard from the Strip.
- Circle K, 1777 E. Warm Springs Rd.: Warm Springs Road east of the return.
- Shell, 7311 S. Eastern Ave., and Speedway, 7295 S. Eastern Ave.: Eastern Avenue at Warm Springs, side by side, for travelers coming from Henderson or the 215.
- Shell, 1465 E. Windmill Ln.: Windmill Lane off I-15 and Las Vegas Boulevard, south of the return.
- 7-Eleven, 8925 Las Vegas Blvd. S.: Las Vegas Boulevard near Blue Diamond Road, for anyone arriving from the south on I-15.
Warehouse clubs are a stretch here. The nearest Costco gas stations, Henderson (791 Marks St.) and southwest Henderson (3411 St. Rose Pkwy.), are both confirmed on costco.com but sit roughly 7 to 8 miles from the Rent-A-Car Center, so they only make sense if you are already in Henderson. There is no Costco on Las Vegas Boulevard near the airport, and the Costco Business Center downtown is closed Sundays. We could not verify fuel at any Las Vegas Sam’s Club this update.
Rental refuel rules
The three options are the same at every counter in the Rent-A-Car Center. Return it full and you pay only the pump price. Prepay a tank and you forfeit whatever is left; Avis says “no credit or refund will be given for unused fuel in the tank,” and Enterprise says prepaid fuel is sold only in full tanks and is not refundable. Let the agency refuel and you pay its local rate plus service. Prepaid only wins if you are certain to return on fumes, and a Vegas trip where the car mostly sits in a resort garage is the opposite of that.
Vegas trips are also where the short-mileage rule bites. Avis’s EZFuel program charges customers who drive fewer than 75 miles a flat fee unless they fill up and present a fuel receipt at return, and a Strip-plus-airport rental can easily stay under 75 miles. Keep the receipt. On Turo, the host’s listing sets the fuel policy; Turo’s help center tells guests to refill to the check-in level and to photograph the fuel gauge at check-in and checkout, since hosts have 72 hours to invoice for missing fuel plus a $10 inconvenience fee and the photos decide a dispute.
Local quirks
Prices rise as you approach the Strip. The handful of stations on or just off Las Vegas Boulevard between Sahara and Tropicana serve tourists and convention traffic, and they are routinely among the highest-priced in the metro on GasBuddy. The fix is simple: do not fill up near your resort. Drive south first, and use Warm Springs Road, Eastern Avenue or the Chevron by the outlets as your last stop. If you are returning from Henderson, Eastern at Warm Springs gives you two stations to compare on the same corner. For the rest of the trip, see Las Vegas on Points and our guide to Harry Reid airport lounges for after you drop the car.
Pay with the right card
A $5.42-a-gallon tank in Las Vegas should at least earn you points. Gas stations are a bonus category on several Chase Freedom cards, and the points move to Chase Ultimate Rewards. If you are adding a card, you can apply through our Chase referral link for the Chase Freedom cards.

Our take
Skip every station within sight of a casino. Come down Las Vegas Boulevard or the 215, check GasBuddy, and fill at the Chevron by the outlets or on the Eastern-and-Warm-Springs corner, two minutes from Gilespie Street. Decline prepaid fuel, keep the receipt, and photograph the gauge before the shuttle.
