Wyndham Rewards has a luxury problem: there just aren’t many high-end hotels to spend your points on. That’s starting to change. On Nov. 2, Wyndham announced a partnership with HotelREZ Hotels & Resorts that’ll bring more than 40 independent luxury hotels into its Registry Collection Hotels brand, and into Wyndham Rewards. For context, Registry Collection had just over 30 hotels in nine countries before this.
And if you’ve got Chase points, there’s a timely twist: Chase is running a 30% transfer bonus to Wyndham right now. More on that below.
What’s actually changing
These hotels aren’t getting a Wyndham makeover. They keep their owners, their management and their own names, and they stay part of HotelREZ’s Elegant Hotels of the World collection. What they get is access to Wyndham’s sales and booking channels. What you get, eventually, is a way to earn and redeem Wyndham points at them.
Wyndham says the work has already started, hotels will join over the coming months, and the full group should be in by early 2027. The first ones are being listed at WyndhamHotels.com/Elegant. Wyndham’s chief commercial officer, Scott Strickland, framed it like this: “As Wyndham grows, so do the aspirations of our Wyndham Rewards members.”
Key details (as of November 2026)
- How many: More than 40 hotels from Elegant Hotels of the World, with more possibly added later.
- Timing: Hotels join in waves; the full group is expected by early 2027.
- Named so far: Rosselli AX Privilege (Valletta, Malta), The TownHouse Mykonos (Greece), Galgorm Resort and Roe Valley Resort (Northern Ireland), TreeHouse Villas Koh Yao (Thailand) and Cinco Quintas Hotel Boutique (Cartagena, Colombia).
- Size: Many are small boutiques with roughly 20 to 50 rooms.
- What’s missing: Wyndham hasn’t published earning rates, award prices or a date when you can book these hotels with points.
The Chase transfer bonus, and the math
Separately, Chase is offering a 30% bonus on Ultimate Rewards transfers to Wyndham from Nov. 1 through Dec. 3, 2026, according to Frequent Miler and InsideFlyer. Transfers normally go 1:1, so every 1,000 Chase points becomes 1,300 Wyndham points while the bonus lasts.
Here’s how that plays out. Wyndham’s award chart now has four levels: 5,000, 15,000, 30,000 and 45,000 points a night (that pricing took effect Sept. 15). Chase transfers in 1,000-point chunks, so with the bonus a 30,000-point night takes 24,000 Chase points, and a 45,000-point night takes 35,000. That’s a real discount compared to a normal 1:1 transfer.
The catch: we don’t know yet which award level these new hotels will land on. If a boutique like The TownHouse Mykonos prices at 30,000 points on a summer night when cash rates are high, that’s a great use of points. If it’s 45,000 points on a night that costs a modest amount in cash, it isn’t.
Who this affects and what to do
- If you already hold Wyndham points: Nothing to do yet. Keep an eye on the Elegant page for hotels you’d actually visit, and compare the points price with the cash rate once they’re bookable.
- If you’re tempted to move Chase points: Don’t transfer on spec. Transfers can’t be undone, so only move points for a specific stay you’ve already found available on points.
- If you’re planning a 2027 trip to Malta, Mykonos, Northern Ireland, southern Thailand or Cartagena, bookmark this and check back as hotels go live.

Our take
This is good news for Wyndham members, with a big asterisk on timing. Wyndham Rewards has always been strongest at budget and midscale hotels, and luxury has been its weak spot. Adding 40-plus independent hotels in places like Mykonos and Malta gives you a better reason to collect Wyndham points than “a free night near the highway.”
But the details that decide whether this is useful (award pricing, availability, and when points bookings start) haven’t been announced. And the 30% Chase bonus ends Dec. 3, which may well be before most of these hotels are bookable with points. We’d use the bonus if you have a specific Wyndham stay you can book today. We’d skip it if you’re just hoping one of the new hotels shows up at a good price later. Chase points are flexible; once they’re Wyndham points, they’re not.
