Milwaukee Irish Fest has posted its 2027 dates: Thursday, Aug. 19 through Sunday, Aug. 22, 2027, at Henry Maier Festival Park on the Lake Michigan lakefront. If you’re thinking about a late-summer Milwaukee weekend, that’s enough to start planning. Lineup, hours and 2027 ticket prices haven’t been released yet, so below we pull together what’s confirmed, what last year looked like, and how to get there and stay on points.

What and when

Irish Fest bills itself as a celebration of Irish and Celtic music, dance and culture, with 17 stages and more than 100 entertainment acts, per the festival’s site. As of October 2026, the organizer’s homepage says: “Join us August 19-22, 2027, at the Henry Maier Festival Park.” One small caution: some of the site’s page metadata still showed the 2026 dates when we checked, so confirm on the homepage before you book anything nonrefundable.

For reference, here’s how the 2026 festival (Aug. 13–16) ran, per the organizer’s transportation page. Expect a similar pattern, but 2027 hours aren’t posted yet.

Day (2026 pattern)HoursNotes
Thursday5–10 p.m.Preview night; only part of the grounds open
Friday4–11 p.m.Full grounds
SaturdayNoon–11 p.m.Full grounds
Sunday11 a.m.–9 p.m.Full grounds

Tickets and tips

2027 prices aren’t out yet. As of October 2026, the tickets page still shows 2026 pricing, which gives you a sense of the range (plus taxes and fees):

  • Single-day general admission: $23 through June 30, then $27.
  • Thursday preview night: $10.
  • 4-Day Pass: $70 through June 30, then $80.
  • Kids 12 and under: free. Seniors 60+: $20. Active-duty military got in free (plus one guest) any day with ID.
  • Free-entry promotions in 2026 included a school-supply donation on Thursday and a food donation (two nonperishable items, 8–11 a.m. at the South Gate) on Sunday.

The pattern to note: prices went up on July 1 in 2026. If that repeats, buying before the end of June is the easy savings. Irish Fest also sold hotel packages (festival tickets plus a shuttle) through partner hotels, and the 2026 packages closed well before the festival. Watch the Hotels page in spring if you want one.

Getting there

By air: Milwaukee Mitchell (MKE) has nonstops on Alaska, American, Delta, Frontier, JetBlue, Southwest, Sun Country and United, per the airport’s nonstop list as of October 2026. The festival grounds are a short rideshare from the airport.

By train: From Chicago, Amtrak’s Hiawatha runs to downtown Milwaukee in about an hour and a half. From the Milwaukee station, the festival grounds are a rideshare or transit ride away.

Around town: Per the festival’s transportation page (2026 info), MCTS buses cost $2.75 per 90-minute fare, and The Hop streetcar is free, with stops near Discovery World and service until 1 a.m. during summer festivals. Rideshare drop-off and pick-up is at the North Gate. Irish Fest doesn’t run the nearby parking lots; prices are posted at each lot and vary, the festival suggests SpotHero for advance booking, and street parking is free on Sundays. Accessible parking is at the mid-gate area (limited) and Lot H.

Where to stay on points

Mid-August is a busy summer stretch on Milwaukee’s lakefront, so it’s worth booking early. Points prices at Hilton, Marriott and IHG move with demand, and Hyatt’s pricing depends on the date too, so check your exact nights.

  • Kimpton Journeyman (IHG One Rewards), 310 E. Chicago St. in the Historic Third Ward, the neighborhood next to the festival grounds. It’s on the festival’s own hotel list.
  • Hyatt Regency Milwaukee (World of Hyatt), 333 W. Kilbourn Ave. A large downtown hotel, also on the festival’s list. Hyatt changed its award pricing in May 2026, so confirm the current points price on hyatt.com.
  • Hilton and Marriott options: the festival’s list also includes downtown Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn & Suites, Home2 Suites and Tru by Hilton, plus Courtyard, Residence Inn and the Milwaukee Marriott. See our Milwaukee on points guide for more on each.

Chase Ultimate Rewards points transfer to both World of Hyatt and IHG One Rewards, which covers two of the hotels on Irish Fest’s own list. You can compare current offers and apply with our Chase referral link.

Our take

Irish Fest is one of the easier Milwaukee festivals to plan around: the dates are out ten months ahead, kids get in free, and the 2026 pricing rewarded people who bought early. The things to watch are hotel prices that weekend and whether the festival keeps the pre-July price break. Lock in a refundable hotel now, then buy tickets in spring once the 2027 prices and first lineup names appear. We’ll post an update when they do.
